Thank you for a great 2016 season of horse racing in Colorado at Arapahoe Park!  We look forward to seeing you in 2017!  During the off-season, you can watch and wager on horse races from around the country at Mile High Racing OTBs.

Top Moments from Arapahoe Park in 2016:

  • Bling On the Music became the first filly to defeat male horses in the six furlong, $100,000 Gold Rush Futurity at Arapahoe Park on the Colorado track’s final day of the 2016 season on Sunday, August 14.  Ridden by Luis Quinonez for trainer J.R. Caldwell and owner Keene Thoroughbreds, she also won by the biggest margin, 13 lengths, in the race’s history. Recap

  • Lady Jila made Arapahoe Park history as the first Thoroughbred ever to win the same stakes race four times at the Colorado track in the Columbine Stakes on July 24.  Lady Jila has risen from a horse who was competing in $5,000 claiming races at Arapahoe Park in 2012 to one of the most accomplished horses to race in Colorado.  The 9-year-old mare who seems to get better with age held on by a neck in the 1 1/16-mile, $35,000 stake that she also won in 2013, 2014, and 2015. Recap

  • Breakout performances by 2-year-olds in Arapahoe Park's futurities—In Kuh Hoots in the Cherry Creek, Bout Tree Fiddy in the Rocky Mountain, and Who You Know in the Mile High—helped shape the future of Quarter Horse racing in Colorado.

  • Uptown Dannys Boy is found his funk at Arapahoe Park.  In his first start at the Colorado track on May 22, the 4-year-old gray colt broke a 15-year-old track record for five furlongs for Arabians.  Then on June 18, he prevailed in an exciting stretch duel in the Jerry Partin Memorial COBRA Sprint against Sammy V, the winner of the stake in 2014. The three breeds that race at Arapahoe Park: Thoroughbreds, Quarter Horses, and Arabians.
